The Session of Berwyn Presbyterian Church is the ruling body of the church. It is made up of 10 men and women of varying ages and ethnic backgrounds. Each member of session is called an elder. Under each elder is a committee which performs the functions of the church. We manage and keep the records of the church, provide educational ministry, worship, financies, property, maintenance of the property, salaries of the employees and programs of the church. Meeting monthly, we serve a three year term.
Mark 10:45 “ For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve …”
Fran barasch, clerk of session
I’ve been a member of Berwyn Presbyterian Church about 40 years. During that time I served as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon, an elder, currently clerk of session, and I’m a member of Presbyterian Women and the book club. Before coming to Maryland my home was Minneapolis, Minnesota. My husband and I have two children and a cat. My favorite pastime is scrapbooking. Working as a microbiologist for 30 years, I’m now retired and enjoy teaching scrapbooking at a local senior center.
