MUSIC ON SUNDAYS
Our Sunday Worship service features a blend of traditional style, usually accompanied by our pipe organ, and contemporary style, usually accompanied by the piano and additional instruments. We also feature culturally diverse musical styles, as our congregation has members from every part of the world.
WE ARE BUILDING THE CHOIR. JOIN US
Choir rehearsal is held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the music room. To join, please contact Gabriel at firstname.lastname@example.org, or talk to him any Sunday after the service.
Reading music is not required. Joining does requires a very simple initial meeting with Gabriel in which he listens to your voice and your ability to match pitch. After the meeting Gabriel assigns you to singing either melody or harmony and the further classification of soprano, alto, tenor or bass.
Currently not meeting due to Covid-19.
Generally, choir meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM.
Sign up before attending by contacting Gabriel at email@example.com.
Our choir members, in addition to singing, share their talents as instrument players. From harp, cello, flute, oboe, guitar, etc. all instruments are welcome, as we feature different styles of music at our services.
Do you play an instrument? Contact our Music Director and we will set up a time to meet, practice and find the way to integrate your talent in our music ministry.
WE WELCOME NEW GROUPS
Do you sing/play as part of a group already established that has its own rehearsals? We welcome your participation. Contact our Music Director and he will coordinate the way to integrate your group in our services. We welcome diverse styles, culture, languages.
If you are a soloist and would like to participate in a specific Sunday, our Music Director will gladly arrange this collaboration. Contact him ahead of time with at least one week notice.
Our Music Director plans the music well ahead of time, so choir rehearsals are efficient, and bulletins can be printed with the correct information. It is important that any collaboration is included in the planning with enough time to integrate in the rest of the planning for that Sunday. If you would like to collaborate, please be sure to give at least one week notice to our Music Director, and be ready to provide the following information: Title of the piece, style, length, composer, lyrics, your name, and a brief paragraph about yourself. Also indicate if the piece presented needs an accompanist or not, and if it needs to be accompanied, indicate if you are providing your own accompanist.
www.berwynmusic.com is a sister web site also affiliated to Berwyn Presbyterian Church. It is the site that hosts our Music Director's music planning for each individual Sunday. It is the site that choir members use to check what music will be sung at upcoming services, and what music will be practiced at upcoming rehearsals. It is open to anyone who would like to see that information.
